How To Marry Your Vulnerability To Your Romantic Connection – Mariah Grey For Rori Raye Siren Island

Hey, Sirens, it’s Mariah.

I just wanted to take a quick minute to talk to you about something that keeps coming up for me and my clients: the marriage between vulnerability and connection.

It’s so interesting to see how often it happens that we say “I really want a deeper connection with my man. I really want to feel that strong, solid, deep love connection,” and yet, we have such unwillingness to be vulnerable with our man.

We toughen up as if to show him that we can handle things, that we don’t need to break down or be soft, that we don’t need to open up and share our innermost thoughts and feelings.

What’s so interesting is that I’ve been noticing that real connection, real, deep connection goes hand in hand with vulnerability.

I think, in this digital world we live in now, a world in which we do so many things via text, email, Facebook, messenger, one of the reasons we’re feeling disconnected from each other is that we’re taking a lot of our vulnerability away.

We don’t have to be vulnerable.

We can remake a video 1700 times until we’re absolutely perfect, until everything is perfect, until there’s no background noise, until our hair is not a mess, until nothing’s wrong.

We can rewrite a message to a man over and over and over until it sounds perfectly crafted, like literal angels wrote it.

We can doctor up our photos.

That possibility for endless editing hides any bumps, wrinkles, lines, you know, pimples that we might have on our face.

What we’re doing is cutting ourselves off from our own vulnerability, and, when we do that, it cuts us off from connection.

One of the things that I love about coaching on Siren Island is that we work through a lot of this vulnerability together.

When we work through it together, as we start to open up to each other on the Island, it makes it easier for us to open up and be vulnerable in the rest of our lives.

So, if you want to learn how to open up and be vulnerable, how to get back to that place of deep, deep connection, not with just lovers, but with friends, with family, with everyone, you can join us on Siren Island.
